Oh, I’m so flattered you want to learn more about me!
First off – I like to make pictures, stories, and books. But that is (hopefully) self-evident if you’ve taken a look around the site. I love the process of creating a story visually, because each new project provides a new learning experience.
I have a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Colorado focusing in Illustration and have been a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators for many years.
Personally, I am pretty obsessed with the Victorian and Edwardian eras, particularly the photos which I both collect and sell. I have two cats but they only have one eye apiece. I run as often as I can and I love to explore my town on my bicycle. Generally, I read more children’s books than adult books. I love doing research and learning about new things, so if I’m not in my studio there’s a good chance I can be found in a library, bookstore, or museum.
Would you like to know more? Send me an e-mail and ask. I’m quite good at answering questions.
I am currently open for commissions.
